As a bicyclist, of course you encounter dangerous situations on the road daily. We cyclists all know that the roads are full of distracted and negligent drivers and that the urban infrastructure is often inadequate to prevent bicycle accidents, particularly in a congested place like San Francisco. That’s why it’s important as California cyclists, we stay aware of some of the most common dangers on the road, the situations that can be particularly hazardous, and how we can avoid bicycle crashes when we encounter them. Let’s look at two common dangerous situations, the “left cross” and “right hook”, and refresh…
Sadly, earlier last month, A 69-year-old-man succumbed to the injuries suffered in what turned out to be a fatal Petaluma bicycle crash. The seemingly solo bicycle collision sent this gentleman over his handle bars and caused him to hit the ground face first, said officials in Petaluma.
Police were called to the intersection of B Street and El Rose Drive, after receiving reports of a bicyclist on the ground with “significant trauma to his head and face”. The injured Petaluma cyclist was wearing a helmet at the time of the incident.

Our firm represents many cyclists who have been injured in San Francisco bicycle accidents. So, how can we still encourage commuting by bike? Because, other than bicycle accidents, bicycle commuters have been found to be exponentially healthier than other commuters, and more bicycle riding could help reduce our community’s health care costs substantially. A British study recently found that people who commute by bike are six times more likely to get their 150 minutes of recommended weekly exercise than those who don’t, according to Brunel University in London, England.
We all know that regular exercise is good for you.…

This victory is more than just a dollar amount for our client; it represents a potential shift away from the strong anti-bicycle bias San Francisco bicycle riders have been facing from police and from judges and jurors in court for years.

Bicycling keeps them fit, happy, healthy, and on time. One thing bicycling sometimes leads these types of people to is having to call a cycle accident attorney. That isn’t because they aren’t able to navigate their bikes properly, however. A large portion of cycling accidents can be attributed to the careless or reckless driving of other motorists on the road.
Unfortunately, not…
